Terms governing your use of the BiharYaatra platform as a Traveller — your rights, responsibilities, and the standards we uphold together

Welcome, Traveller
By creating an account and booking any service on BiharYaatra — including homestays, transport, tour packages, or guided experiences — you agree to the following terms. These exist to ensure a safe, fair, and memorable experience for everyone.

1. Eligibility & Account
1.1. Who May Use BiharYaatra
You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and make bookings on BiharYaatra. Minors may travel as part of a booking made by an eligible adult who accepts full responsibility for them.
1.2. Account Accuracy
You agree to provide truthful, current, and complete information during registration and in your profile. This includes your full legal name, valid email address, and active phone number.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You agree to notify BiharYaatra immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- BiharYaatra reserves the right to suspend accounts that contain false or misleading information.
1.3. KYC (Know Your Customer) Requirements
For certain bookings (especially homestays), Indian regulations require guest identity verification. You may be asked to provide:

2. Booking & Payment Terms
2.1. Nature of Bookings
BiharYaatra acts as a technology intermediary connecting you with independent Service Providers (Homestay Hosts, Transport Operators, Tour Guides). When you complete a booking, you are entering into a direct service arrangement with the respective Provider.
2.2. Pricing & Transparency
All prices displayed on BiharYaatra are set by the Service Providers. The total amount shown at checkout includes:
- The base service fee as listed by the Provider.
- Any applicable taxes and government levies (GST where applicable).
- A transparent platform convenience fee, if any, clearly shown before payment.
There are no hidden charges. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
2.3. Secure Payment via Escrow
To protect your interests, all payments are processed through a Razorpay-managed escrow account. Your money is not released to the Provider until the service is confirmed or completed.
You Pay
Full booking amount is collected securely via Razorpay (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets).
Funds Held Securely
Your payment is held in escrow — the Provider cannot access it until the trip is marked complete.
Service Delivered
Once you complete your trip, funds are released to the Provider. If there's a problem, you can raise a dispute.
2.4. Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only when you receive an official confirmation notification (via email, SMS, or in-app) from BiharYaatra. Simply initiating a payment does not guarantee availability — the Provider must accept the booking for it to be confirmed.
3. User Conduct & Safety
3.1. Respectful Behaviour at Provider Locations
When using services booked through BiharYaatra, you agree to:
- Treat Homestay Hosts, Tour Guides, and Transport Operators with courtesy and respect.
- Follow the house rules set by homestay hosts (e.g., quiet hours, no smoking zones, pet policies).
- Respect local customs, cultural sites, and religious sentiments — Bihar is home to sacred sites of Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, and Sikhism.
- Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour towards Providers or other travellers.
3.2. Property Damage & Liability
You are financially responsible for any damage caused to a Provider's property during your stay or service usage. This includes but is not limited to:

Vehicle Interior
The Provider may raise a damage claim through the BiharYaatra Admin panel, and you may be required to compensate the Provider for verified damages.
3.3. Safety & Personal Responsibility
While BiharYaatra verifies all Providers through a KYC and onboarding process, you acknowledge that:
- You travel at your own risk and should exercise reasonable personal judgement and caution.
- You must follow all safety instructions provided by Tour Guides and Transport Operators.
- You are responsible for obtaining any personal travel insurance you deem necessary for your trip.
- If you feel unsafe at any point, contact BiharYaatra support immediately via the in-app help button or emergency contact line.
3.4. Anti-Circumvention (No Offline Deals)
3.5. Honest Reviews
You are encouraged to leave honest, constructive reviews after each experience. Your feedback helps improve the platform for all travellers.
- Honest feedback — both positive and negative — is welcome and protected.
- Fake, defamatory, or extortive reviews (e.g., threatening a bad review to obtain free services) are strictly prohibited and may lead to account termination.
4. Cancellation & Refund Rights
4.1. User-Initiated Cancellations
You may cancel a confirmed booking at any time. The refund you receive depends on how far in advance you cancel relative to the service start date:

4.2. Provider-Initiated Cancellations (Your Protection)
If a Service Provider cancels your confirmed booking:
You will receive a 100% full refund — no questions asked.
BiharYaatra will actively assist you in finding an alternative arrangement of equal or better quality.
The Provider will be penalized and may face suspension from the platform.
4.3. Refund Processing Timeline
All approved refunds are processed automatically and credited back to your original payment method via Razorpay within 5 – 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation notification once the refund is initiated.
4.4. Service Quality Mismatch
If you arrive at a homestay or experience a service that severely mismatches the listing description or photos on BiharYaatra:
5. Liability & Dispute Resolution
5.1. Limitation of Liability
While BiharYaatra takes every reasonable step to verify Providers, you acknowledge that:
- BiharYaatra shall not be held liable for accidents, breakdowns, or delays involving transport providers.
- BiharYaatra does not guarantee the quality of food, amenities, or stay beyond what is verified during onboarding.
- BiharYaatra is not responsible for the actions, behaviour, or omissions of independent Service Providers.
- BiharYaatra's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific booking in question.
5.2. Dispute Resolution Process
If you encounter an issue with a Provider or service, you may raise a dispute through the following process:
Report the Issue
Contact BiharYaatra support within 48 hours of the service date with relevant evidence (photos, messages, receipts).
Admin Investigation
The BiharYaatra Admin team will review both sides. The Provider's payouts may be frozen during this period.
Resolution
You will receive a resolution (refund, partial credit, or alternative arrangement) within 7 business days.
5.3. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Patna, Bihar.
Acceptance of Terms
Your Agreement
By creating an account on BiharYaatra, completing a booking, or continuing to use the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
Checking the “I Agree to the Terms and Conditions” box during registration constitutes a legally binding digital acceptance of this agreement.
